Internet Distributed Denial of Service Appliance Company Webscreen Technology raises $1.4 Million Series A.

LONDON, England, - Webscreen Technology Ltd., a company engaged in the development of infrastructure appliance technology that prevents Distributed Denial of Service attacks announced today the completion of a Series A funding of a total of $1.4 million (USD). Saffron Hill Ventures and East River Ventures committed the funds.

Webscreen's solutions are targeted at companies interested in ensuring that malicious Denial of Service attacks do not disrupt the provision of mission-critical websites. For the first time, corporate IT managers will be able to deploy a plug and play appliance in front of their web servers to defend in real time against the distributed denial of service attacks that are presently plaguing the internet, including recent attacks on well known websites such as Yahoo, CNN, the FBI, and BT. Serious damage can be done to the computer systems at these sites making them unavailable for several hours, resulting in millions of dollars of lost business.

Gary Milo, an experienced internet security expert, founded Webscreen in 2000 and with the help of WOW Ventures Ltd., a venture catalyst company, he has brought the security appliance to the completion of Alpha testing. The Beta phase is now underway. Proceeds from this investment round will be used to complete Beta testing and take the product to market by the end of this year.

Gary Milo CEO of Webscreen, said that "...The present funding will enable Webscreen to develop specific product-families based on its patent-pending technology, and to initiate its worldwide growth plans ..."

Webscreen was represented by the law firm NELLEN.
